WHO IS BEHIND THE INITIATVE?

The University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the Volkswagenwerk Emden has set itself the goal of anchoring the topic of operational excellence more firmly in the north-west. The existing expertise on the part of the university with professors, institutes (e.g. institute for logistics) as well as the practical experience on the part of Volkswagen should be used and brought closer to companies in the region.

WHY OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE?

Operational Excellence ist die Ausrichtung der Unternehmensprozesse auf Kund/-innenbedürfnisse, Qualität und Effizienz. The aim is to eliminate causes instead of symptoms through the continuous and dynamic optimization of all processes and systems. Always getting a little bit better is not that easy in addition to daily business. The lean philosophy offers many possibilities and starting points to let optimizations become part of the daily business. The focus is on both, the customers (external and internal) and the employees, so that sustainable success can be achieved together.

WHERE WILL THE JOURNEY GO?

The aim is to create a network of diverse industry sectors from the northwest, from companies for companies, regardless of the size of the company. With a regular, interactice exchange a mutual benefit should result by providing valuable impulses with, for example, best practice approaches and measures.
